What is the purpose of the LDAP Datalink?
To allow ITSM 7.0 customers to keep their People data (required to reside in the CTM:People repository for ITSM 7) updated from their Active Directory/LDAP data source.
I thought BMC already provides External Authentication to the Active Directory/LDAP data source.
Why do I need this product?
The feature provided by BMC allows users to login without requiring that they have user/password data in the AR System (User form). Authentication is re-routed to the external source. However, once logged in, users will be unable to do anything of significance in the ITSM 7.0 applications if they don't have a current entry in the CTM:People form. This product will push data from the LDAP data source into the CTM:People form and all other forms required to make it possible for a user to navigate the ITSM 7.0 application.
